DAY 9 - MAY 18
GOODNESS
Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.
Oh Holy Spirit, by thy power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By thy grace, miracles are performed in Jesus' name. By thy love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar's heart for thy gift of Goodness within us.
We want to be like thy Saints in heaven. Holy Spirit, renew us by thy power with thy Goodness that we may bring the Good News to the world. Amen.

PRAYER: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of thy love. Send forth thy Spirit and they shall be created, and thou shall renew the face of the earth.
O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of thy faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER FOR US ALL TO PERSEVERE IN PRAYER
Glorious St. Rita, you persevered in your desire to enter the convent, waiting on God's time. Eventually, everything became easy and you were able to enter. Help us all to persevere in prayer for our intentions and trustingly accept God's will whatever the outcome.

PRAYER: Dear Saint Rita, during your entire life on earth you found your happiness by following the will of our heavenly Father. Help me to be as trusting of God in all his designs for me. Help me this day to give myself to him as you did, without limit, without fear, without counting the cost. Help me to be generous in serving the needs of others, patient in all difficulties, forgiving toward all who injure me. Help me to learn more deeply the great mystery of the cross of Jesus, so that by embracing it as you did, I may come to experience its power to heal and to save. Amen.

O Mary, by Thy presence at the foot of the cross, Thou comforted and strengthened Thy Son as He offered His life to the Father. Be with me at the hour of my death, and when I die lead me quickly to the joys of Thy Son's kingdom in Heaven.

PHILIP'S DEVOTION
Philip, my glorious Patron, gain for me a portion of that gift which thou hadst so abundantly. Alas! thy heart was burning with love; mine is all frozen towards God, and alive only for creatures. I love the world, which can never make me happy; my highest desire is to be well off here below. O my God, when shall I learn to love nothing else but Thee? Gain for me, O Philip, a pure love, a strong love, and an efficacious love, that, loving God here upon earth, I may enjoy the sight of Him, together with thee and all saints, hereafter in heaven. Amen.

PRAYER: O glorious St. Philip, who wast so favored by God with the gift of consoling and assisting thy spiritual children at the hour of death, be also my advocate and father when I shall find myself at that dreadful moment. Obtain for me that at that hour the devil may not conquer me, nor temptation overcome me, nor fear itself revile me; but that, strengthened by a lively faith, a fervent hope and, a sincere charity, I may sustain with patience and perseverance that supreme struggle, and that, full of confidence in the mercy of the Lord, and in the infinite merits of Jesus Christ and the protection of the Most Blessed Mary, I may deserve to die the death of the just, and be united with thee and all the saints in the blessed home of Paradise, to praise and enjoy the Lord forever. Amen.

MEDITATION: At the Baptism of Jesus and Transfiguration, the Father's words were heard: “This is My beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased, listen to Him”: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life.”; “So that all who will honor the Son in the same way as they honor the Father. Who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” (Jn. 5,23)

O my God, I believe, I adore, I hope, I love Thee! I ask pardon for those who do not believe, nor adore, nor hope, nor love Thee.
O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly! I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, Present in all the Tabernacles of the world, for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference committed against Thee in which He Himself is offended. Amen.
