FOR TEMPERANCE

O God, You made St. Dymphna resplendent in the virtue of temperance so that she mastered sensual inclinations and used temporal goods prudently. With temperance she combined the beautiful virtues of modesty, docility and humility. Let us not forget that humility is called the foundation of all virtue because it banishes from the soul pride, the obstacle to grace. Through the intercession of St. Dymphna, we beg Thee to guide and direct us, so that being preserved from evil and nervous disorders, we may obey till death the commandments and counsels Thou hast given us, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

DAY 4 - MAY 13

PATIENCE

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by thy power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By thy grace, miracles are performed in Jesus' name. By thy love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar's heart for thy gift of Patience within us.

Oh Holy Spirit, thou give lavishly to those who ask. Please give us the patience of the Saints who are now with thee in heaven. Help us to endure everything with an eternal patience that is only possible with thy help. Amen.

Glorious St. Rita, you wanted to enter the convent but your parents arranged a marriage for you. We pray for those whose hopes have been frustrated.

PRAYER: Dear Saint Rita, during your entire life on earth you found your happiness by following the will of our heavenly Father. Help me to be as trusting of God in all his designs for me. Help me this day to give myself to him as you did, without limit, without fear, without counting the cost. Help me to be generous in serving the needs of others, patient in all difficulties, forgiving toward all who injure me. Help me to learn more deeply the great mystery of the cross of Jesus, so that by embracing it as you did, I may come to experience its power to heal and to save. Amen.
