DAY 8 - SEPTEMBER 12
TEACH US TO ACCEPT SITUATIONS THAT ARE OUT OF OUR CONTROL AND CARRY THEM AS YOU CARRIED YOUR CROSS TO CALVARY.
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, your love for your Father and for the whole world brought you to the cross. Gazing upon the cross helps us to remember your bitter Passion and we thank you for your great sacrifice.
Lord Jesus, in remembrance of your sorrowful Passion and Death, please look down upon us and grant the petition we ask for…

O Jesus, your cross is life-giving! Your death and resurrection brought us salvation. Send us the Holy Spirit while we praise You and meditate on the meaning of your death. Through the Holy Spirit, open our hearts so that we may be able to know that without sacrifice, we can never be your disciples. Through Your Holy Cross, save us. Amen.

DAY 7 - SEPTEMBER 12
SECRET SUFFERING
We look all around us at Church and see them: all the people whose kids never seem to scream and who look like they haven't a problem in the world! But what if we really knew them? We would see the 'secret sufferings' that mirror our own. Mass is the gathering of those who have looked at their own brokenness through the lens of the cross, and live! Today is the perfect day to pray for all God's broken children and especially those who are tempted to break the lives of others.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...
PRAYER: O Mary, sorrowful Mother of the Lord, you have given us a wonderful example of love and strength near the cross. Teach us to love and be generously present to all who suffer. Grant that we may receive you in our home like a mother and learn through your example a new way of accepting the inevitable sufferings of life. Amen.

PRAYER: O humble St. Joseph of Cupertino, you were favored by God in overcoming the difficulties and worries of studies and examinations. Intercede for me to the Holy Spirit that my mind and memory may be strengthened in the pursuit of God's wisdom. Help me to offer God my very best work and help me to grow in knowledge and humility. Everything that I try to learn in life will be offered in service to God.
