Holy Mother, your birth caused great joy to the angels, because they saw your holiness caused by your Son's resurrection. Pray for me today that the feast of your birth may give great joy to my soul that your graces may rain down on all married couples.

Our Merciful Mother of Dolours, you suffered with your Divine Son for our sake. We grieve for all our sins and offer our sufferings in union with you, so that we may obtain God's mercy. We pray you to remove from our hearts all sinful affections and inclinations, and to inflame within our souls the ever glowing love for God. Our loving Mother most pure! defend us from all dangers both of soul and body. Like the bird that escapes in the air at the sight of a hunter, and like the deer that hides in its shelter at the sight of a tiger, we have our recourse to your most immaculate heart, where we are sure to be safe. Holy Mother, lead us all safe till we reach our eternal life, where we will praise God in union with you for ever.

I desire by this novena, which I now offer in your honour, to prove the lively confidence I have in your intercession. Accept it, I beseech you, in honour of that supernatural love and joy, with which your Immaculate Heart was replenished during the abode of your divine Son in your womb, in veneration of which, I offer you the sentiments of my heart. Amen.

O ever bountiful and merciful Lord, Thou hast glorified the memory of Saint Nicholas of Tolentino by countless and extraordinary miracles, giving to his prayers a wondrous efficacy, and to his hand an astonishing healing power. Through Thee he solaced and healed the afflicted, through Thee, he restored the dead to a disconsolate mother's embrace. To Thy pitying mercy he led the despairing and the penitent. Through the holiness, the virtues, and the miracles of Thy saints, may the poor souls be admitted to Thy mercies, and to the embrace of Thy compassionate love. Grant them the solace of Thy clemency, and eternal happiness and rest, with Thy glorious saints in paradise.

MAY OUR VENERATION OF THE CROSS HELP US TO BE MORE LOVING. THAT WE MAY LEARN TO LOVE OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, AND ANY HATRED, MISTRUST OR RESENTMENT WILL LEAVE OUR HEARTS.
PRAYER: Dear Jesus, your love for your Father and for the whole world brought you to the cross. Gazing upon the cross helps us to remember your bitter Passion and we thank you for your great sacrifice.
Lord Jesus, in remembrance of your sorrowful Passion and Death, please look down upon us and grant the petition we ask for…

O Jesus, your cross is life-giving! Your death and resurrection brought us salvation. Send us the Holy Spirit while we praise You and meditate on the meaning of your death.
