1⃣ NOVENA TO STS. PETER AND PAUL

DAY 8 - JUNE 27

MATTHEW 14:29-31

“Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out. ‘Lord, save me!' Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,' he said, ‘why did you doubt?'

REFLECTION: When we do a task with confidence, we often surpass expectations and surprise ourselves and those around us. When we doubt our skills, we perform inferiorly. So, it is in our relationship with the Lord. He is always with us, but when we think we alone are in control, we overlook his power to help us. We remain emotionally and spiritually confident when we communicate and walk hand in hand with the Lord.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, let me be aware of the power you have over me and all the world. Take away my doubt and give me confidence to do what you ask of me.

O holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, I choose you this day and forever to be my special patrons and advocates; thee, Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, because thou art the Rock, upon which Almighty God hath built His Church; thee, Saint Paul, because thou wast fore-chosen by God as the Vessel of election and the Preacher of truth in the whole world.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be...

Obtain for me, I pray you, lively faith, firm hope, and burning love; complete detachment from myself, contempt of the world, patience in adversity, humility in prosperity, attention in prayer, purity of heart, a right intention in all my works, diligence in fulfilling the duties of my state of life, constancy in my resolutions, resignation to the will of God and perseverance in the grace of God even unto death; that so, by means of your intercession and your glorious merits, I may be able to overcome the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and may be made worthy to appear before the chief and eternal Shepherd of souls, Jesus Christ, Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth for endless ages, to enjoy His presence and love Him forever. Amen.

Sts. Peter and Paul: Pray for us!

2⃣ NOVENA TO ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE

DAY 4 - JUNE 27

REFLECTION: WE STRUGGLE WITH DOUBT.

On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.”

Now Thomas, one of the twelve, called the Twin, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and place my finger in the mark of the nails, and place my hand in his side, I will not believe.” (John 20:19‐25)

Lord Jesus, I do believe‐ help my disbelief.
Lord Jesus, where are you calling me to deeper faith?

3⃣ NOVENA TO ST. MARIA GORETTI

DAY 1 - JUNE 27

O St. Maria Goretti, beautiful model of purity, you defended your virginity unto your death.

Even at the age of 11, you held dear to your heart what is dear to our Lord's heart: your purity. Pray for me that I may do the same, especially when I am tempted.

Please pray that God will give me the strength to avoid sin and say, “yes” to a life which will lead to eternity in Heaven with you and our Lord. Amen.
