DAY 8 - MAY 26

SELF-CONTROL

Let us bow down in humility at the power and grandeur of the Holy Spirit. Let us worship the Holy Trinity and give glory today to the Paraclete, our Advocate.

Oh Holy Spirit, by thy power, Christ was raised from the dead to save us all. By thy grace, miracles are performed in Jesus' name. By thy love, we are protected from evil. And so, we ask with humility and a beggar's heart for thy gift of Self-Control within us.

Thy Martyrs had the overwhelming self-control to go joyfully to a painful death without shrinking from the opportunity to join thee in heaven. Give us this self-control to have command over our emotions and desires that we may serve thee more fully. Amen.

PRAYER: Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of thy faithful and kindle in them the fire of thy love. Send forth thy Spirit and they shall be created, and thou shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, Who didst instruct the hearts of thy faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever rejoice in His consolation, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

GOD THE FATHER

Our Father who art in heaven

MEDITATION: In the New Testament, Jesus spoke about the Father and to the Father 170 times (to Mary His Mother only three times.) From the beginning of His ministry, Jesus would say: "I was sent by the Father," "Your God and my God," "the Father and I are one." "I do only the things told by my Father," "Father, not my will but Yours be done," etc.

ADORER'S PRAYER

(Taught by the Angel of God to the three children at Fatima)

O my God, I believe, I adore, I hope, I love Thee! I ask pardon for those who do not believe, nor adore, nor hope, nor love Thee.

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore Thee profoundly! I offer Thee the Most Precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, Present in all the Tabernacles of the world, for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference committed against Thee in which He Himself is offended. Amen.
