DAY 12 - NOVEMBER 12

They are not strangers who implore our help - they are our own; our parents, brothers and friends. They are the devoted hearts, who loved us so tenderly and for us so earnestly toiled and suffered. Now that they are gone from our midst, does not our heart reproach us for not having sufficiently shown our affection in the past?

DE PROFUNDIS

PSALM 129 (130)

V: Out of the depths, I have cried to Thee, O Lord, Lord, hear my voice.
R: Let Thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication.
V: If Thou, O Lord, shalt mark my iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand it?
R: For with Thee there is merciful forgiveness: and by reason of Thy law I have waited for Thee, O Lord.
V: My soul hath relied on His word; my soul hath hoped in the Lord.
R: From the morning watch even until night; let Israel hope in the Lord.

LET US PRAY: O Lord Jesus Christ, have compassion on Thy Church Suffering. Temper Thy justice with pity and open the gates of Heaven for the Souls in Purgatory, that they may praise and glorify Thee forever. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.

SIXTH PRAYER: O Jesus, inexhaustible fountain of pity, remember now that bitterness which Thou didst endure when, Thy strength being exhausted and Thy sacred Body dried up, Thou didst feel that burning thirst, and hadst not one drop of water to cool Thy parched tongue, but only vinegar upon hyssop; I beseech Thee that Thou wouldst extinguish in me the thirst of carnal concupiscence and worldly delights. Amen.

R: That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

LET US PRAY: O Lord Jesus, by the love Thou didst bear to the virginal heart of Saint Gertrude, and by which Thou hast promised that no sinner, who would honor and love her, should die a sudden and unprovided death: grant me, I beseech Thee, this grace, and let me so love Thee, and repent of my sins, that with faith and confidence I may expect a happy death.

O God, Who in the heart of the holy virgin Gertrude didst provide for Thyself a pleasing abode: through her merits, do Thou cleanse from our hearts every stain of sin, and grant that we may enjoy fellowship with her for evermore. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, Who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

(NOTE: It was revealed to St. Gertrude that reading and meditating on the Passion are far more useful and efficacious than all other spiritual exercises. As those who handle flour cannot avoid contracting some of the flour's powdery substance, so no one, however imperfect his devotion may be, can occupy his mind with the Passion of Our Lord without receiving some benefit therefrom. And, however cold and lukewarm our devotion, Our Lord will look upon us with greater long-suffering and mercy if we never omit the memory of His Passion).

3⃣ NOVENA TO CHRIST THE KING

DAY 2 - NOVEMBER 12

OPENING PRAYER: Lord Jesus, King of the universe, we want to open our spirit in this novena dedicated to you and contemplate the mystery of your life as an Apostle of the Kingdom with your mind and heart. We ask you, through the intercession of Mary, to establish your reign in our hearts so that united to you, we can make your Kingdom present in the hearts of people and in society.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Jesus Christ is sent by the Father to redeem humanity. His kingdom is not of this world. He is the king of the manger, of the crown of thorns… the king who came to serve, to give his life for love. Jesus Christ is the Apostle of the Kingdom, who goes out to meet people, reveals the love of his heart to them, gathers them together and forms them as apostles and Christian leaders, sends them out and accompanies them as they collaborate in the evangelization of people and of society.
