DAY 6 - SEPTEMBER 10
Give us the grace to not be desperate in our moments of suffering. Help us to carry our cross with courage and dignity, so that even in the midst of pain we may be of help to others.
PRAYER
Dear Jesus, your love for your Father and for the whole world brought you to the cross. Gazing upon the cross helps us to remember your bitter Passion and we thank you for your great sacrifice.
Lord Jesus, in remembrance of your sorrowful Passion and Death, please look down upon us and grant the petition we ask for…

O Jesus, your cross is life-giving! Your death and resurrection brought us salvation. Send us the Holy Spirit while we praise You and meditate on the meaning of your death. Through the Holy Spirit, open our hearts so that we may be able to know that without sacrifice, we can never be your disciples.

DAY 5 - SEPTEMBER 10
PRAY FOR FAMILIES
I know of a family which prays each night. Since the kids were little, they are gathered from their games and their grumbling to the couch in the living room. There they pray for those whom they love and those they have a hard time loving. They pray for the unborn and for little babies. They pray for the sick and the dying. They pray for the Church and for their priest. Many a night it was the knowledge of those prayers that gave me hope and peace and a good night's sleep.
PRAYER
God, come to my assistance.
Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father…
Holy Mother of God, hear the prayers of the Church for all mothers, especially those wearied by life and overcome by the suffering they bear for their children.
Hail Mary...
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, intercede for them from your place in heaven, that the mercy of your divine Son might lighten their burden and give them strength.

O holy St. Joseph of Cupertino, you put your intellectual shortcomings in the hands of God. In doing so, you were able to pass your exams and become a priest against all odds. I pray for all those struggling with exams. May they try their best and put the rest into the hands of God with the knowledge that anything is possible with God. I pray especially for...

PRAYER
O humble St. Joseph of Cupertino, you were favored by God in overcoming the difficulties and worries of studies and examinations. Intercede for me to the Holy Spirit that my mind and memory may be strengthened in the pursuit of God's wisdom. Help me to offer God my very best work and help me to grow in knowledge and humility. Everything that I try to learn in life will be offered in service to God.
