Lord, God of Holiness and light. You do not allow any shadow of darkness or evil in your sight, and so in your mercy you grant to those who have left this world burdened with sin, a time of purification, applying to them the spiritual treasures of your holy Church.
Hear my prayer and through the merits of Christ, the Blessed Virgin, the saints, and all your faithful people bring to an end this time of waiting for our beloved dead, especially…

Be with us, so that we can face our trials with courage. For we know that through you, we can draw something good from these experiences.

Dear Jesus, your love for your Father and for the whole world brought you to the cross. Gazing upon the cross helps us to remember your bitter Passion and we thank you for your great sacrifice.
Lord Jesus, in remembrance of your sorrowful Passion and Death, please look down upon us and grant the petition we ask for…

PRAY FOR FATHERS AT THE BIRTH OF THEIR CHILD
'At first I was petrified", Jon told me. "Petrified that I would faint or get in the way or not know what to do to help Sarah. But then I prayed to Mary. I know, praying to Mary is something you would think a mother would be doing. But somehow, I think Mary understood Saint Joseph more than anyone else. She probably saw the fear in his eyes and sensed the restlessness of his heart. She probably spent a lot of time praying for him as well. And when I prayed to Mary for my child about to be born, I knew she understood and heard me and prayed for me to her son. At first I was petrified, and then I put everything into God's hands."
