JESUS MADE HIMSELF THE BREAD OF LIFE AND THE HUNGRY ONE
“Believe that He, Jesus, is in the appearance of Bread and that He, Jesus, is in the hungry, naked, sick, lonely, unloved, homeless, helpless and hopeless.”
Ask for the grace of a deep faith to see Jesus in the Bread of Life and to serve Him in the distressing disguise of the poor.
PRAYER
St. Teresa of Kolkata, you allowed the thirsting love of Jesus on the Cross to become a living flame within you, and so became the light of His love to all.

DAY 5 - SEPTEMBER 3
O Spotless Virgin Mother of Health, our heavenly Benefactress, Hail! Elizabeth received many favours for herself and for her family during your stay at her home. Choosing Velankanni as the place of your throne, you bless and obtain numerous favours for all those who seek your help, the blind obtain their sight, the dumb speak, the lame walk, the sick with no other hope of cure, are cured by you. Merciful Mother, we thank you for your favours shown to our brethren in need, and through you we adore and glorify your Almighty Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. We pray to intercede for us in all our needs as your motherly heart knows them. Obtain God's Mercy for those who have offended Him and convert such hardened sinners to become His true friends. Amen.

DAY 3 - SEPTEMBER 3
Remember, O Divine and merciful Lord, Thy compassion to the soul of the Gentile Jodiani, for whom Saint Nicholas besought Thy mercy. Thou didst give the dying sinner the grace of repentance. Though didst suspend the rigour of Thy justice, and, accepting the merits and suffrages of the Saint, Thou didst remit the punishment deserved by his sins. Vouchsafe, O Lord, the same gentle pity to the poor penitent souls in purgatory, who, in human frailty, offended Thy majesty and holiness. List once more to the prayer of Thy Saint, to which we, in our lowliness, unite our supplications, and grant the poor souls relief from their sufferings, so that, with the Blessed in Heaven, they may join their voices in exultant praise of Thy mercy.
