1⃣ NOVENA TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS

DAY 9 - JUNE 26

THANK YOU, JESUS!

Did you know that in the Old Testament the word ‘Praise' has only one object – God! In the Psalms, to praise is to live; not praising is the same as not living, not living the life which is God's gift, to be returned in praise. A Jewish Rabbi has written, ‘It is difficult to feel depressed when you remember fairly constantly that life is a gift. Faith teaches us to make a blessing over life. Making a blessing over life is the best way of turning life into a blessing.'

TODAY'S PRAYER: I want to say ‘Thank You, Jesus' for these nine days of prayer, of talking and listening to you more closely than usual. Thank you, especially for all the things in my life that I just take for granted every day, forgetting that they are pure gifts. Amen.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, the needs of your people open your heart in love for each of us. You care for us when we are lost, sympathize with us in loneliness, and comfort us in mourning; you are closest to us where we are weakest. You love us most when we love ourselves least; you forgive us most when we forgive ourselves least; and you call us to spread your love in whatever way we can.

Lord Jesus, your heart is moved with compassion when we are suffering, when we need your help, and when we pray for each other. I ask you to listen to my prayer during this Novena, and grant what I ask.

(State your intentions here...)

If what I ask is not for my own good and the good of others, grant me what is best, that I may build up your kingdom of love in our world. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be...

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you!

2⃣ NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL SUCCOUR

DAY 9 - JUNE 26

O Mary, If - as St. Peter says - death is terrible even for the just, how much more so will it be for a sinner who has many times deserved hell. So when I think of that moment on which depends my loss for eternity, I begin exceedingly to fear and to tremble. O Mother of Perpetual Help, in thee alone is my hope, for thou are the advocate of sinners and patron of the dying. I place myself from henceforth in thy blessed hands, to thee I entrust the care of my sinful soul: dispose of me, do with me as thou pleasest, but preserve me from an evil death. Reject, if thou wilt, all my other prayers, provided thou hearest this one for a good death; or may a peaceful and holy death be the crowning answer to all the prayers I address to thee henceforth to the end of my days. And when my last hour shall come, grant, O my good Mother, that I may worthily receive all the help the Holy Church affords to the dying: And be thou pleased thyself to come then to my aid, to encourage, console and defend me from the assaults of Satan and that thy name, with that of Jesus, may be my last thought, and my last sigh, so that I may go to heaven to sing thy mercies. Come, O Lady of Perpetual Help, to help me at the hour of my death. Amen.

PRAYER: O Mother of Perpetual Succour, behold me a miserable sinner at thy feet; I have recourse to thee and put my trust in thee. O Mother of Mercy have pity upon me. I hear thee called by all the refuge and the hope of sinners, be then my refuge and my hope. Succour me for the love of Jesus Christ; stretch forth thy hand to me a poor sinner, who recommend and dedicate myself to thee as thy perpetual servant. I bless and thank GOD for having in His mercy given me this confidence in thee, the pledge as I believe of my eternal salvation. Alas! Too often in past times have I miserably fallen, because I had not recourse to thee! I know that with thy help I shall conquer. I know that thou will help me if I recommend myself to thee; but I fear lest in the occasion of falling. I should cease to call upon thee and so should lose my soul. This, then, is the grace I seek from thee; and I beg of thee, as far as I know how and can, to obtain it for me; namely, in the assaults of hell, always to have recourse to thee and to say to thee: O Mary help me; Mother of Perpetual Succour, suffer me not to lose my God. Amen.

(State your intentions here…)

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be... (3 times)

Holy Mary, succour the miserable, help the faint hearted, cheer those that weep, pray for the people, be the advocate of the clergy, intercede for all devout woman; let all feel thine aid who implore thy perpetual succour.

Mother of Perpetual Succour: Pray for us!

3⃣ NOVENA TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

DAY 8 - JUNE 26

SANCTITY

Immaculate Mother of God, our Mother by grace, we the beloved of thy Immaculate Heart come to thee on this eighth day of this Novena to pray for the grace to become Saints of God.

Queen of Angels and Saints, we desire to become saints, not for our own glory, but for the honor and glory of God alone. At our Baptism, O Holy Mother, we were first sanctified when "the love of God was poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us." (Romans 5:5) At the same time the entire Blessed Trinity came to dwell within us. We are now in the period of our second sanctification which shall continue throughout life as we correspond with Divine inspirations, striving to practice Christian virtues. Thus we hope to grow more and more unto the likeness of thy Son, Jesus Christ. Assist us, O Holy Mother Mary, never to waste a single grace.

Mother Mary, in a living consecration to thy Immaculate Heart, we ask to live the consecration of our Baptism. May we arrive at that third sanctification which will take place when we enter Heaven. There we will become totally and irrevocably united with the Most Blessed Trinity in the Beatific Vision, in "what no eye hath seen nor ear heard, nor hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love Him." (I Cor. 2:9)

We believe, Sweet Heart of Mary, that our sanctification lies in the performance of our daily duty in Christ, doing the will of God each day according to our state in life. May we be ever mindful, O Holy Mother, that the sacrifice especially requires of each of us is the fulfillment of His laws in the performance of our daily duty while living in a spirit of charity towards our neighbour. May we persevere in living the fullness of true faith in the Catholic Church, which is the Mystical Body of Jesus of which thou are Mother.

(State your intentions here…)

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be...

PRAYER: O Lady of Victory, keep us ever mindful of thy Son Who said, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life, shall lose it; for he that shall lose his life for My sake, shall save it." (Luke 9:23-24) Each one of us has a Guardian Angel to assist us in the battle against the forces of evil so as to lead us to our Heavenly home. Heavenly Mother of our Savior, keep us open to the good Holy Angels as they teach us through the voice of conscience. Thus will we live in harmony with the Word of God as taught by Holy Mother Church. Amen.

Immaculate Heart of Mary: Pray for us!

4⃣ NOVENA TO STS. PETER AND PAUL

DAY 7 - JUNE 26

HEBREWS 13:1-2

“Keep being concerned about each other as the Lord's followers should. Be sure to welcome strangers into your home. By doing this, some people have welcomed angels as guests without even knowing it.”

REFLECTION: A wave, a nod, a smile, a hug initiates meaningful feelings of concern for friends, neighbors, and parishioners (some we know, and some we don't know). These are simple actions that carry the gospel of love to others. By extending a welcome to someone, which is a normal human interaction, we may experience a personal contact on a spiritual level.Try it!

PRAYER: Lord, give me the gift of hospitality. Open my heart to those who struggle with poor health, loneliness, or mental illness. Assist me to be faithful to daily prayer.

O holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, I choose you this day and forever to be my special patrons and advocates; thee, Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, because thou art the Rock, upon which Almighty God hath built His Church; thee, Saint Paul, because thou wast fore-chosen by God as the Vessel of election and the Preacher of truth in the whole world.

(State your intentions here...)

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be...

Obtain for me, I pray you, lively faith, firm hope, and burning love; complete detachment from myself, contempt of the world, patience in adversity, humility in prosperity, attention in prayer, purity of heart, a right intention in all my works, diligence in fulfilling the duties of my state of life, constancy in my resolutions, resignation to the will of God and perseverance in the grace of God even unto death; that so, by means of your intercession and your glorious merits, I may be able to overcome the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and may be made worthy to appear before the chief and eternal Shepherd of souls, Jesus Christ, Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth for endless ages, to enjoy His presence and love Him forever. Amen.

Sts. Peter and Paul: Pray for us!

5⃣ NOVENA TO ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE

DAY 3 - JUNE 26

REFLECTION: OUR HEARTS LONG TO STAY CLOSE TO JESUS.

“Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. (John 14:1‐6)

Lord Jesus, give me a greater desire for heaven.
Lord Jesus, in my life are you the way, truth, and life?
