DAY 9 - JULY 13

Dear St. Camillus, inspired by the words of Jesus (“I was sick and you visited me”), you dedicated your life and all your strength to help the sick, and to improve hospitals and health conditions in the most difficult circumstances. Arouse everyone's conscience to be more interested in health problems and to diminish the suffering of the people.

COMMIT YOURSELF TO DOING GOOD AND BEING WITH THE GOOD.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be.

PRAYER OF THE SICK: Lord, I come before You in prayer. I know that You hear me, You know me. I know that I am in You and that Your strength is in me. Look at my body racked with infirmity. You know, Lord, how much it hurts me to suffer. I know that You are not pleased with the suffering of Your children.
Give me, Lord, the strength and courage to overcome moments of desperation and exhaustion. Make me patient and understanding. I offer up my worries, anxiety and suffering to be more worthy of You.
Let me, Lord, unite my sufferings with those of Your Son Jesus who for love of men gave His life on the Cross.
Furthermore, I ask You, Lord: Help doctors and nurses take care of the sick with the same dedication and love that St. Camillus had. Amen.

2⃣ NOVENA TO ST. BONAVENTURE (PATRON OF BOWEL DISORDER)

DAY 8 - JULY 13

O St. Bonaventure, you chose a life of mortification and great humility. By choosing to serve those who were rejected and sick, you willingly risked illness yourself. You made your life a continuous prayer and spent many hours meditating on the wounds of Christ. Help us to imitate the holiness you showed in the service you rendered to God during your time as a bishop.

St. Bonaventure, you did not seek the ecclesiastical power of the role of bishop. But when you obediently accepted the role Pope Gregory X insisted you take, you carried out your duties faithfully. 

Please be faithful in presenting my petitions before the throne of God!

You shepherded the people of God with care, as a bishop. You helped bring about greater unity between the Greek and Latin Church, and you died while serving the Church at the Second Council of Lyon.

Pray for me, that I may faithfully serve God in the duties of my own vocation. Pray that I may always seek to glorify God in all that I do.

O Mary, Help of Christians, you assured us that wearing your Scapular worthily would keep us safe from harm. Protect us in both body and soul with your continual aid. May all that we do be pleasing to your Son and to you.

PRAYER: Our Lady of Mount Carmel, glorious Queen of Angels, channel of God's tenderest mercy to man, refuge and advocate of sinners, with confidence I prostrate myself before thee, beseeching thee to obtain for me. In return I solemnly promise to have recourse to thee in all my trials, sufferings and temptations, and I shall do all in my power to induce others to love and reverence thee and to invoke thee in all their needs. I thank thee for the numberless blessings which I have received from thy mercy and powerful intercession. Continue to be my shield in danger, my guide in life, and my consolation at the hour of death. Amen.
