DAY 9 - FEBRUARY 10
O glorious Mother of God, to you we raise our hearts and hands to implore your powerful intercession in obtaining from the benign Heart of Jesus all the graces necessary for our spiritual and temporal welfare, particularly for the grace of a happy death. O Mother of our Divine Lord, as we conclude this novena for the special favour we seek at this time.

We feel animated with confidence that your prayers in our behalf will be graciously heard. O Mother of My Lord, through the love you bear to Jesus Christ and for the glory of His Name, hear our prayers and obtain our petitions.
PRAYER: O Brilliant star of purity, Mary Immaculate, Our Lady of Lourdes, glorious in your assumption, triumphant in your coronation, show unto us the mercy of the Mother of God, Virgin Mary, Queen and Mother, be our comfort, hope, strength and consolation. Amen.

DAILY PREPARATORY PRAYER: O Most Holy and Blessed Trinity, through the intercession of Holy Mary, whose soul was pierced through by a sword of sorrow at the sight of the passion of her Divine Son, we ask your help in making a perfect Novena of reparation with Jesus, united with all His sorrows, love and total abandonment. We now implore all the Angels and Saints to intercede for us as we pray this Holy Novena to the Most Holy Face of Jesus and for the glory of the most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

PRAYER OF POPE PIUS IX: Jesus! Cast upon us a look of mercy: turn your Face towards each of us as you did to Veronica; not that we may see it with our bodily eyes, for this we do not deserve, but turn it towards our hearts, so that, remembering you, we may ever draw from this fountain of strength the vigour necessary to sustain the combats of life. We rejoice in your glory, and we give thanks to our Lord for all the benefits which He has showered upon you; we praise Him, and glorify Him, and for an increase of your joy and honour, we offer Him the most Holy Face and gentle Heart of Jesus. Pray that we may become formed according to the heart of God. Amen.

Oh St. Kuriakose, you taught us to overcome the hardships of life with the power of prayer. Intercede for us that we may receive the grace to trust God in crucial moments such as financial crisis, choosing the right vocation of life and impending job opportunities. Grant us the grace to be obedient to the will of God and to lead an ideal Christian life built on God's Word. We trust in your intercession and ask you to obtain for us this particular favour (State your intentions here…) from our merciful Abba, through Christ our Lord. Amen.

PRAYER: Oh Almighty God, St. Kuriakose lived a holy life in your presence and became your pleasing servant through continuous meditation, prayer and service to the Holy Church. Mercifully look upon us who seek refuge in the patronage of this holy servant of yours. Oh Lord, we beseech you to cure the sick, console the sorrowful, bless the couples without children, grant students the gift of knowledge, provide shelter to those in economic hardships, preserve the priests and religious in holiness, and establish peace and joy in our families. We pray that You call children from our homes for the service of the Holy Church. Accept our prayers and bless us through St. Kuriakose, your humble servant and our beloved patron. Amen.
