DAY 9 - AUGUST 27
Holy Saint Augustine, you have overcome great adversity to be revered as one of the greatest saints of our Church. In your wisdom and compassion, aid me in my own life quest to fulfill the destiny laid for me, that God may bless me with the strength, courage and wisdom to surrender my temporal concerns to His will. Intercede for me that my most pressing concerns be resolved and my petition granted.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…
PRAYER: O holy Saint Augustine, who has famously declared that “Our hearts were made for you, O Lord, and they are restless until they rest in you,” aid me in my own search for our Lord that through your intercession I may be granted the wisdom to determine the purpose God has planned for me. Pray that I be blessed with the courage to follow God's will even at times when I do not understand. Ask our Lord to lead me to a life worthy of His love, that I may one day share the riches of His kingdom. Petition our Lord and Savior to ease the burden of my problems and grant my special intention, and I will honor you all of my days. Amen.

DAY 8 - AUGUST 27
TO POSSESS THE VIRTUE OF HUMILITY
Jesus, you left all your heavenly glory and came down to earth in a very humble human form to do the will of the Father (cf. Heb. 10:7). Your life was self-emptying throughout and ended in the most painful and humiliating death on the cross for the salvation of mankind. Your death on the cross and your supreme forgiving love attract many souls. To be humble, St. Euphrasia found ways and means in her daily endeavours and wished to be unnoticed by others and lead a hidden life.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...
PRAYER: Jesus, you took the form of a servant to redeem mankind. You assign people on earth, suitable to your Heart to realize your Father's will. We praise you for this. The present world with all its crookedness and vices, has to be brought to the bright light of faith and purity. For this, you have selected St. Euphrasia also along with other saints, we thank you. To be light where there is darkness, to be comfort to the disturbed, to be a corrective force for sinners, to be a support to the weak souls to ascend the steps of holiness, to be a lodestar to grow in the love of God and man, you have given us our Mother, St. Euphrasia, we praise and thank you. We too desire to bring many people to the path of prayer and sanctity. We pray for all these graces, for our intentions and prayers which we offer through this novena be heard and answered so that Jesus be glorified. Amen.

DAY 1 - AUGUST 27
KNOW THE LIVING JESUS
“Do you really know the living Jesus — not from books but from being with Him in your heart?”
“Am I convinced of Christ's love for me and mine for Him? This conviction is the rock on which sanctity is built. What must we do to get this conviction? We must know Jesus, love Jesus, serve Jesus. Knowledge will make you strong as death. We know Jesus through faith: by meditating on His Word in the Scriptures, by listening to Him speak through His Church, and through the intimate union of prayer.”
“Seek Him in the tabernacle. Fix your eyes on Him who is the Light. Bring your hearts close to His Divine Heart and ask Him to grant you the grace of knowing Him.”
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: “Don't search for Jesus in far lands; He is not there. He is close to you; He is in you.”
Ask for the grace of an intimate knowledge of Jesus.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...
PRAYER TO ST. TERESA OF CALCUTTA: Saint Teresa of Calcutta, longing to love Jesus as He had never been loved before, you gave yourself entirely to Him, refusing Him nothing. In union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, you accepted His call to satiate His infinite thirst for love and souls and become a carrier of His love to the poorest of the poor. With loving trust and total surrender you fulfilled His will, witnessing to the joy of belonging totally to Him. You became so intimately united to Jesus your crucified Spouse that He deigned to share with you the agony of His Heart as He hung upon the Cross.
Saint Teresa, you promised to continuously bring the light of love to those on earth; pray for us that we also may long to satiate the burning thirst of Jesus by loving Him ardently, sharing in His sufferings joyfully, and serving Him wholeheartedly in our brothers and sisters, especially those most unloved and unwanted. Amen.
