1⃣ NOVENA TO ST. THOMAS MORE

DAY 9 - JUNE 21

REFLECTION: FAITH, HOPE AND STEADFAST LOVE

Lord God, we honor the memory of our Saint, Saint Thomas More.

In his earthly life, he was totally devoted to preparing for the life to come.
Everything he endured prepared him not only for heavenly glory, but for his work as the patron of lawyers, judges and statesmen, and as steadfast friend to all who call upon him.
We ask that you grant to us, through his prayers and intercession, the grace to follow in his footsteps of faith, hope and steadfast love, until at last we are safely home in the mansions you have prepared for us in heaven.

We also ask that, through his powerful intercession, we may obtain the favors we seek in this novena:

(State your intentions here…)

But if what we ask is not for the glory of God and the good of our souls, grant us, we pray, what is more conducive to both. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

St. Thomas More: Pray for us!

2⃣ NOVENA TO ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST

DAY 7 - JUNE 21

O Glorious, St. John the Baptist, greatest prophet among those born of woman, although thou was sanctified in thy mother's womb and didst lead a most innocent life, nevertheless it was thy will to retire into the wilderness, there to devote thyself to the practice of austerity and penance; obtain for us of thy Lord the grace to be wholly detached, at least in our hearts, from earthly goods, and to practice Christian mortification with interior recollection and with the spirit of holy prayer. Amen.

O glorious St. John the Baptist, through the love thou does bear to Jesus Christ, and for the glory of His Name,

Hear our prayers and obtain our petitions...

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be...

St. John, who leaped with joy in your mother's womb: Pray for us!

St. John, whose birth was accompanied by marvels: Pray for us!

3⃣ NOVENA TO ST. JOSEMARIA ESCRIVA

DAY 5 - JUNE 21

Heavenly Father, you have given us the shining example of St. Josemaría Escrivá. You granted him the grace and ability to minister to many when he founded Opus Dei. He shared Your word and taught people how to make their daily life and work holy. For it is in our daily life and work that we can come to know You, O God!

St. Josemaría Escrivá, we know that you are particularly close with God and so we humbly beg you to hear and answer our intentions through the grace of Our Lord.

(State your intentions here…)

O God, we long to have your peace within us. Please show us how to be holy like St. Josemaría Escrivá so that every day we may see Your loving hand in our work, our families, in our friends and in all that we do. Help us to be strong when we face illness and difficulty in life so that we may see Your good and loving hand in all situations.

Today, we come to You with a special request through the intercession of St. Josemaría Escrivá:

Dear God, help us to know that our work is a service to others and that God is waiting for us in our work, asking us to imitate Jesus' years of work as a carpenter. Amen.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be...

PRAYER: St. Josemaría Escrivá, we offer our prayers and intentions into your steadfast hands with the knowledge that you will bring them to the feet of God speedily. As we ask you to pray for our intentions, we pray even more that we may become as close to Our Lord as you are. Only there, close to God, may our hearts be fulfilled. Amen.

St. Josemaría Escrivá: Pray for us!

4⃣ NOVENA TO OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL SUCCOUR

DAY 4 - JUNE 21

To Thee, then, O Hope of the wretched, I, a miserable sinner, address myself. I hope that by the merits of Jesus Christ and through thy intercession I shall be saved. Such is my confidence, O Mary, that were eternal salvation in my own hands I would place it in thine; for I trust more in thy mercy and protection than in all my own endeavors. My Mother and my Hope, abandon me not as I deserve. Be moved to pity. Help me and save me; let all see that thy goodness surpasses the number and the malice of my sins. It is testified, throughout the Church, that no one under thy protection can ever perish. Should then all others forget me, do not thou, O Mother of Perpetual Help. Say to God, that I am thy servant, that thou defendest me and I shall be saved. I wish to live and die saying that next to God thou art my chief Hope. Our Lady of Perpetual Help, next to Jesus my only hope, grant that I may always hope in thee. Amen.

PRAYER: O Mother of Perpetual Succour, behold me a miserable sinner at thy feet; I have recourse to thee and put my trust in thee. O Mother of Mercy have pity upon me. I hear thee called by all the refuge and the hope of sinners, be then my refuge and my hope. Succour me for the love of Jesus Christ; stretch forth thy hand to me a poor sinner, who recommend and dedicate myself to thee as thy perpetual servant. I bless and thank GOD for having in His mercy given me this confidence in thee, the pledge as I believe of my eternal salvation. Alas! Too often in past times have I miserably fallen, because I had not recourse to thee! I know that with thy help I shall conquer. I know that thou will help me if I recommend myself to thee; but I fear lest in the occasion of falling. I should cease to call upon thee and so should lose my soul. This, then, is the grace I seek from thee; and I beg of thee, as far as I know how and can, to obtain it for me; namely, in the assaults of hell, always to have recourse to thee and to say to thee: O Mary help me; Mother of Perpetual Succour, suffer me not to lose my God. Amen.

(State your intentions here…)

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be... (3 times)

Holy Mary, succour the miserable, help the faint hearted, cheer those that weep, pray for the people, be the advocate of the clergy, intercede for all devout woman; let all feel thine aid who implore thy perpetual succour.

Mother of Perpetual Succour: Pray for us!

5⃣ NOVENA TO STS. PETER AND PAUL

DAY 2 - JUNE 21

PSALMS 27: 4-5

“I ask only one thing Lord: Let me live in your house every day of my life to see how wonderful you are and to pray in your temple. In times of trouble, you will protect me. You will hide me in your tent and keep me safe on top of a mighty rock.”

REFLECTION: Prayer is our connect-point with God. In this psalm, David asks for safety, protection from enemies and grace to live and pray in the house of the Lord. We lead busy lives with work, family and numerous activities, and consequently we sometimes forget our first concern is our relationship with the Lord.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for being You. Help me to keep you special in my life. Continue to give me the daily grace to love my neighbor.

O holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, I choose you this day and forever to be my special patrons and advocates; thee, Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, because thou art the Rock, upon which Almighty God hath built His Church; thee, Saint Paul, because thou wast fore-chosen by God as the Vessel of election and the Preacher of truth in the whole world.

(State your intentions here...)

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be...

Obtain for me, I pray you, lively faith, firm hope, and burning love; complete detachment from myself, contempt of the world, patience in adversity, humility in prosperity, attention in prayer, purity of heart, a right intention in all my works, diligence in fulfilling the duties of my state of life, constancy in my resolutions, resignation to the will of God and perseverance in the grace of God even unto death; that so, by means of your intercession and your glorious merits, I may be able to overcome the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and may be made worthy to appear before the chief and eternal Shepherd of souls, Jesus Christ, Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth for endless ages, to enjoy His presence and love Him forever. Amen.

Sts. Peter and Paul: Pray for us!
